Lucie Younger love of dance music began back in 1993 when she first started getting into soulful house. From this first initial interest has now grown into what looks to be one the most promising female musicians on the underground scene at the moment.
Her first experience of djing was on the London free party scene and whilst she only began playing out a year ago its fair to say that she has already been making waves through her incredibly versatile style, mixing anything from straight house to breaks to full on techno - which is where her heart lies, with the more hardedged soulful, funky techno.
She has also played in and around the clubs in London and is due to travel to Belgium with Glen Wilson and Gardel for the charity “Music As Therapy” and to Toronto, Canada with Rowland the Bastard.
As if the woman didn’t already have enough strings to her bow, there are talks of a new network for artists’ and labels’ management and already some big players from the scene are interested such as Dean Rodell, Extec, Glenn Wilson, Mark Broom; and labels such as Punish, Submissions and Unknown Forces.
As well as being a career girl and Dj, she has also been making music for the last 3 years with artists such as Geezer (Raw), Gardel (Unknown Forces / Punish, Rowland the Bastard and Extec (Prime/Primate), as well as having collaborations on the way with two of the first ladies of London techno Gizelle and Rackitt.
She also runs her own label “Victim” which has already gathered support from artists such as Carl Cox, DJ Rush, Dave Clarke and DJ Urban and has had some prime exposure on one of the most reputable radio stations and respected music show in the UK, Radio One’s Peel Sessions. Her next plan of action is to produce her own music…you’ve been warned - watch this space!
