James Kinetec

James kinetec has been dj’ing since 1994. Now 25, James started off promoting and dj’ing at small house and outdoor parties outside London playing old school, techno and house, until in 1996, having attended numerous techno club nights and warehouse parties in the city, decided it was time to move to London and follow a scene that would soon become a way of life for him. Shortly after moving to London, having already becoming a resident dj for its popular club nights, James started working for Kinetec Records, where he took over the duties of managing the shop, and very quickly had it established as one of the UK’s best techno and underground dance music specialists. So much so, that in 1999 new and bigger premises were needed and it was here that the shop found its new home on Little Portland Street, just off London’s busy Oxford Street.

Not satisfied with the quality of some of the many events and warehouse parties he was attending, in 1999 James and Kinetecs then owner Mark, started the Kinetec Sound System, that has supplied techno rooms and arenas at many of London’s famous squat and warehouse parties, aswell as many Illegal and legal festivals in the UK and Europe and some of London’s top club venues. In the last few years, James has gone on to join forces with Glenn and DJ Ant and together run the mighty Out Of Order Sound System. Although James’ dj style is predominantly hard, percussive techno, James’ tastes in music do not stop there, this reflects in his sets, that can include influences from many other styles like Breaks, Electro, Hardcore and Drum & Bass. His unique style has earned him much recognition in the UK and Europe, and has seen him play at many of London and the UK’s top underground techno nights and venues
