DJ Mem got into electronic music around 1995 with influences from some ‘futuristic’ Portuguese DJs. After a couple of years djing, Mem started to create his own beats and ‘moody’ rhythms with the primary MC 303.
Surprised with some releases on Portuguese labels Mem got motivated to keep on producing, although he never left the dj business and keep practicing and improving his technique.
In 1998 his best friend and Portuguese master DJ Zé Mig.L, invited him to work in his shop, Dance Planet, where he had contact with loads of ‘serious’ electronic equipment.
With new ‘toys’ and his strong Chicago accent, Mem had a release on Ibrahim Alfa’s label Semi-Automatic, chartered by the famous German DJ Acid Maria on Groove magazine, etc….
Moved by love, Mem went to London where he founded his own label, Nasty Colour, which has had an excellent beginning with NC 01 and NC 02 both charted by the legend Dave Clarke, DJ Bam Bam and more techno ‘experts’ around the world.
So keep an eye on him because this guy promises a ‘nasty’ and ‘colourful’ future.
