Co writer of Movin Shadow’s first release (psychotronic e.p – earth leakage trip) Simon Carter went on to self train the basic operations of a production studio in London with Rising High records before travelling abroad with the Spiral Tribe sound system where he provided tuition to various members in the techno scene’s first ever “on the road” production studio.
The next 8 years were spent refining the style and spreading it as far as possible by way of travelling sound systems or portable live sets. Destinations all across Europe have been visited at least once including hit n run missions to the U.S.A, Israel, and Reunion Island (Indian ocean). From the back of articulated sound system trucks at Berlin’s Love Parade or Paris’s Techno parade via performance art shows with the Mutoid Waste company in Italy, to as far away destinations as the Solipse festival, Lake Balaton – Hungary, for the 1999 solar eclipse.
Alongside the numerous releases with underground label network23, he has also been responsible for collaboration work with 69db under the guise of R-Zac. Releases include appearances on Force Inc, Drop Bass Network, Acid Orange, Rabbit City and Trax, not forgetting of course, some of the releases on BIG LIFE records, 1992/93.
The year 2000 saw a debut appearance at France’s largest electronic music events such Helio Colors. A first step into chain store distribution with CD releases such as Recycle 21 and 866 And Counting… with new partner Expressillon.
Later exploits see an entry into remix work - such as Music Makes Me Dance » on Sony records, and Saga Electronic Wars by Ascender – and the first release on Chip Jockey c.d. collection where artists mix best bits of recorded lives with some extra for a full length c.d. - as well as innumerable live sets all over the world.
Future projects concern a new album in 2004! - ‘‘The Things I’m not supposed to do” - a personal introspective journey across the slower wavelengths of the crystal distortion manifest.
